Hooked on Sally

Picture
Hello I'm Sally MacKay and this is my first portfolio site.
I have been  producing images in the traditional rug hooking technique
for ten years using 100% wool yarn. I use existing colours and some of my
palette I dye to get the colours I need.

My images have my local environment and personal experience as
inspiration. I hope you enjoy my attempts at combining craft with art
in the various depictions presented here.

I have shown my work at many craft shows in Antigonish town and County.
Made in Nova Scotia also showed my work.  Also featured on The Highland Heart and in the local newspaper The Casket

Sally MacKay hooking her next creation

The traditional method of hooking a rug is time consuming and requires patience

Some images are shown as rugs or mats and others are framed as in a painting format.
